illustration friday: hurry

-What are we waiting for?
-For the beets to sprout.
-Stt, don't scare them.
-What are they waiting for?

-They are growing.
-You don't know that.
-Perhaps it's to cold.
-Or to warm.
-To dry or to wet.
-Perhaps they are dead.
-They'll come.
-Or not.
-Beetseeds, hurry up!
-Grow! Show!
-Sst, I think I hear something...

  1. The selective colors (red, green) pop so well! That's the worst part about gardening - waiting for those sprouts to come out!
I'm currently growing cilantro and onions at home. Are you growing anything this year?

  2. Love this! The sense of group waiting and "HURRY!" is shown so well here. What could say hurry better than a waggy dog?

  3. Hahaha, so funny! I love the dialogue that goes with it. (Perhaps they are dead.) They are so intent on the patch of ground. Lovely and cute!

  4. Fabulous! I agree with Cindy - the dialogue, combined with their anxious expressions is the perfect combination! (That tiny beet is so cute!)
